about

“⭐⭐⭐ Erin Harpe is an unmannered singer and assured guitarist, with an assertive touch and a firm grasp of country blues idiom” -MOJO

“One can play the roots country blues differently, louder or faster, to try to impress and dazzle. But nobody today plays and sings it better.” -Frank Matheis, Living Blues

‘Meet Me In The Middle’ is one of those albums that has bags of quality, a generally cracking range of tracks and an old-school, acoustic blues mastery that is seldom found these days. -Iain Patience

Erin Harpe’s new album “Meet Me In The Middle” – featuring Jim Countryman – has been called “today’s country blues at its very best” by Living Blues, who crowned Erin “one of the finest fingerpicking acoustic blues singers in the land”!

Following up a trio of successful albums with her band, Erin Harpe & the Delta Swingers, Erin goes back to her roots in piedmont and country blues for this intimate acoustic album, self-produced and recorded in her home studio in June 2020 while in quarantine, with husband/bass player/audio engineer Jim Countryman. Featuring Erin on acoustic guitars, vocals, kazoo & foot percussion, and Jim on ukulele bass & backing vocals, the album debuted at #13 on Billboard's Blues Chart, making it to #6 on Relix/Jambands.com Radio Chart, #7 on iTunes Top US Blues Albums, #9 on North American College & Community Radio's Top 30 Blues Chart, #8 (Top 50 Contemporary Blues Albums) & #15 (Top Blues Albums) on Roots Music Report's Charts, and #17 on Living Blues Radio's Chart, also making several 2020 top 10 lists!

The album features 10 tracks, including four self-penned songs, and her own interpretations of traditional tunes and songs by blueswomen from Memphis Minnie to Sippie Wallace, with styles ranging from traditional country blues and slide guitar to folk, Zydeco, and Mississippi John Hurt-style gospel.
